About Shiv Dham

Shiv Ji, also known as Mahadev and Mahesh 'The Great God is one of the principle deities of Hinduism. Shiv is known as The Destroyer within the Trinity, the Hindu trinity which also includes Brahma and Vishnu. Lord Shiv is the Supreme Lord who creates, protects and transforms the universe. The iconographical attributes of Shiv are the serpent king Vasuki around his neck, the adorning crescent moon, the holy river Ganga flowing from his matted hair, the third eye on his forehead (the eye that turns everything in front of it into ashes when opened), the trishula or trident as his weapon, and the damaru. He is usually worshipped in the aniconic form of lingam.

7. Family: He is part of the divine family, including his consort Parvati and sons Ganesha and Kartikeya.

8. Mantras: Om Namaha Shivaya and Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra are popular mantras associated with Shiv.

9. Festivals: Maha Shivaratri and Shiva Ratri are significant festivals dedicated to Lord Shiv.

10. Symbolism: Shiva represents the balance between creation and destruction, good and evil, and the cycle of life and death.
