Maha Shivratri is one of the most important festivals celebrated in the Hindu calendar. As this festival is deeply dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a night of deep devotion, inner awakening, and divine blessings of Mahadev. As Mahashivratri literally means “The divine night of lord shiva and Goddess Parvati”.
It is said that Lord Shiva, along with his followers, arrived at Parvati's house in the guise of an ascetic, leading a wedding procession. Parvati's family was frightened, but Parvati remained completely calm and said that if this was her lord, then she accepted him. As soon as Parvati said this, Lord Shiva transformed into his most beautiful form, known as Chandrashekhara. Their union took place, and that night is celebrated as Maha Shivaratri. If we try to understand this story, Parvati represents the inner power within us. Whatever problems or fears we face in life are nothing but this very procession of Shiva, which appears frightening. But if we accept them as Mother Parvati did, these very problems can become a necessary step on the path to enlightenment. Devotees believe that worship with pure intention on this night helps dissolve negative energies and brings spiritual growth.
